New Project for Anna!

Sam Worthington will lead an all-star cast in the Foxtel miniseries, Deadline Gallipoli, which began filming in South Australia today.

The Avatar star, whose Full Clip production company is producing with Matchbox Pictures (The Slap) will star opposite Rachel Griffiths, Englishmen Hugh Dancy and Charles Dance, Bryan Brown, Ewen Leslie, John Bell, Jessica De Gouw, Anna Torv, James Fraser and Joel Jackson.

Both De Gouw and Torv have established US TV careers with starring roles in Arrow and Fringe, respectively.

Deadline Gallipoli looks at the Gallipoli legend from the point of view of war correspondents Charles Bean, Ellis Ashmead-Bartlett, Phillip Schuler and Keith Murdoch. It will screen around the 100th anniversary of the World War I battle next year.

NIDA graduate Joel Jackson stars as Bean, Hugh Dancy will play Bartlett, Ewen Leslie is cast as Murdoch, and Sam Worthington is to play Schuler.

Charles Dance plays Hamilton, the Commander of the Gallipoli campaign, Bryan Brown plays General Bridges and John Bell plays Lord Kitchener.

US-based Australian director Michael Rymer will direct Deadline Gallipoli, after directing US dramas American Horror Story, The Killing, Longmire, Hannibal and Battlestar Galactica TV series. He also directed the Australian feature film Angel Baby.

Jacquelin Perske (Love My Way, Little Fish), Shaun Grant (Snowtown), Stuart Beattie (Pirates of the Caribbean, Tomorrow When The War Began) and Cate Shortland (The Slap, Somersault, Devil’s Playground) have co-written the series.

“This is a fresh take on the Gallipoli story, with these four journalists fighting the upper echelons of the military to get the truth out and stop the carnage,” Worthington said.

“I’m honoured to bring such an important story to audiences, in Australia and around the world.”

Foxtel executive director of television Brian Walsh said, “We have such an extraordinary ensemble of international cast and crew for this landmark Australian miniseries. Deadline Gallipoli will bring to life the history-making events that took place 100 years ago with a story that’s never been told.”

Hey guys! New project for Anna! WOOHOO!

Hey, all you Fringe fans, get ready to freak out!

The one-and-only Anna Torv is making her grand return to TV since her five-year run on Fox’s beloved sci-fi hit ended, but this time she’s headed to premium cable. Torv is the latest actress to sign on to Ryan Murphy’s highly anticipated HBO drama, Open.
But she’s not the only big name to sign on today. Critically acclaimed actress Jennifer Jason Leigh will also be joining Torv on Murphy’s sexy new series.

Although most of the details are hush-hush, Open has been described as a “modern and provocative exploration of human sexuality and relationships.” Sounds intriguing!

Torv will shake off her Peter-loving persona in this new series playing Windsor, a yoga instructor who has been in a long-term relationship with Holly, played by Leigh. However, Torv’s affections for her lady may falter because once she meets mysterious character named Grace, she feel an instant connection.

The actresses join Open alongside the previously announced cast including Scott Speedman and Wes Bentley. We’re going to keep our fingers crossed that Murphy will find additional roles for Joshua Jackson and John Noble so we have have our entire Fringe family back together!
